NFL 2010 Preview: NFC South

No doubt about it, the New Orleans Saints are in the upper echelon of the NFL and will blow through the NFC South as they look to defend their Super Bowl championship.  The Atlanta Falcons will provide minor pushback but, in the end, will come up with the short end of the stick in the [...]

The Sports Union’s NFL 2010 Preview

The 2009-2010 NFL season ended with Drew Brees lifting his son to his shoulder as ticker-tape came streaming down to the field at Sun Life Stadium.  The 2010-2011 season — i.e. prelude to a lockout — needs to be the best ever because it could be the last time we see professional football for awhile.  [...]

English Premier League Says Vuvuzelas Drown Out Racist Chants
  • Several English Premier League clubs (said with all the snootiness I can muster) announced that the sweet melodic hum of the South African vuvuzelas is not welcome at the sophisticated soccer matches played in front of the well-mannered and highly-educated fans of futbol.  The clubs are worried that the vuvuzelas will "drown out crowd noise" (i.e. - our drunken songs and racist chants). Gilbert was fined $100,000 for his letter and comments after LeBron bolted for Miami. So the local kids decided to sell lemonade to help out their loyal owner. Of course Gilbert can pay the fine, so the proceeds from the 50 cent-a-cup lemonade stand will be donated to Cleveland Cavaliers Youth Fund. But it's just another reminder that children, regardless of the situation, still have the best of intentions. If we could all be so kindhearted. (more...)
