Tom Brady wed Gisele Bundchen on Thursday (no press credentials were issued to The Sports Union). As a wedding gift, the Patriots organization traded Mike Vrabel and Matt Cassel to Kansas City. Due to the crazed ignorance of Patriots fans, Cassel would have pressured Brady for the starting job after Brady threw an ill-advised intercetion during pre-season. The trade eliminates the potential quarterback controversy. Vrabel was sent to K.C. to ensure no Chiefs play hard enough to injury Brady again this year. The NFL approved the lopsided trade to ensure Patriot fans would stay interested in football and not shift their focus to the Red Sox’s off-season workouts.

I don’t think it is a bad deal other than not getting anything for Vrabel. The deal was done before Cassel signed a long term deal so there is some added risk for the Chiefs.
