J David and KP get over yourselves. USC is not fake. They are just not as good as Oregon at this time. Oregon has a bunch of senior leadership and players it was in a hostile environment. USC can stop a soul they just can’t stop a team that has a lot more talent than them. They are going to go 10-2 and go to the Fiesta Bowl as an at large and beat whoever they play in that game. Oregon is flat out better than them right now, it happens. The defense obviously is not very good yet, they have a lot of young players and will be absolutely fine. No one outside of Boise has been able to stop this Oregon offense all season and I believe every team in college football would have trouble stopping them.
Way to be in the loop J David. You didn’t know there were 2 games in the Rose Bowl this season? Are you serious. Probably shouldn’t make that public. It kind of shoots your credibility to shit.
Chris,
“just can’t stop a team that has a lot more talent than them.” so are you saying that Notre Dame and Oregon State had more talent than them in the second half? This defense has been buoyed by the offense and playing poor offenses for first half of the season. Plus your Fiesta Bowl comment is what I was getting at, though we didn’t stay on it, when I asked if this could be a good thing. If they get an at large they might play a Boise St. etc. and get a chance to play a non-big 10 team. But don’t apologize for a team being overhyped on that side of the ball. And they aren’t that young. Morgan and Thomas are Sr. Gallipo is a Jr. Garratt and Mays are Sr.s, etc. This is the drop off we expected after loosing all those players to the NFL.
Chris –
You are right. USC is not fake, they are just REAL average.
But they seriously CAN’T stop a soul:
ND-367 total yards, Ore State-482 total yards, Oregon-613 … and for the year, USC is losing the time of possession battle WHICH SIMPLY MEANS THEY CAN’T STOP A SOUL.
I also believe USC has one more loss in them, leaving them outside a BCS bowl … and looking at their remaining schedule, it means a bad loss.
And speaking of senior leadership? Oregon has 4 seniors in their lineup – (1 Offense – a tight end which is hardly a “leadership” position, and 3 Defense)
USC has 7 seniors in their starting lineup (and 2 red shirt juniors).
breakdown:
USC – Offense – 1FR, 4SO/2RS, 3JR/1RS, 3SR/2RS.
USC – Defense – 1FR/1RS, 2SO/1RS, 4JR/1RS, 4SR/3RS
OREGON – Offense – 2FR/2RS, 2SO, 6JR, 1SR
OREGON – Defense – 1FR/1RS, 2SO, 5JR, 3SR
Anthony –
“shoots my credibility to shit” really, REALLY?
If you thought I had credibility in the first place … wow … you are an ignorant bastard!
Yes, I didn’t have a clue about 2 games in the Rose Bowl … and in my defense, I live at least 13.5 miles away from the place so I totally have an excuse … out of sight, out of mind!
Oh, by the way, my point was that even if they played all 5 BCS games in the Rose Bowl, USC doesn’t deserve to play in any of them.
“1st chink in the armor Ted.” Nice hearing SC fans who can’t bring themselves to admit it when there is a problem. They are still a good team even though they got thumped (obliterated if you will). Like seeing an ugly girl without her make-up. You just want to look away.
Love the Gus Johnson call, serious lumber, and the analysis of the Cavaliers. Mike Brown needs to play Mo, West, Parker, Bron, and Anderson together more. 3 bad losses so far.
Other comments…John you need a speech therapist. Why no talk of Darko along with Bron, Melo and Wade? And did you see DeJuan Blair ducking like a little bitch when the bat came swooping by?
Love the fire boys…way to own it. John I will forgive your 2 games at the rose bowl moment because I know you were deep in the African bush.
