After watching two of the worst seasons in Michigan football history, I finally realized why Big Blue has been so ricockulously bad.
It’s because the Maize and Blue gods are pissed off that I am attending USC for two years and want to make sure all of Michigan Nation suffers for it. I apologize to every Michigan alum and fan for my lack of foresight when selecting a University to obtain my graduate degree.
Luckily I will be done by next season and the gods can end their Odysseodic wrath.
Since my team will not be making a bowl game for the second consecutive season I felt the need to look back at times when they actually won in the postseason, just to remind myself of when used to be competitive.
And because I am under no obligation to be objective…
Michigan – USC (1989)

Kevin Patra lives by the adage: Those who can’t do or teach, write. Currently, he is a grad student at the University of Southern California studying online journalism, after spending four years at the University of Michigan obtaining a bachelors degree from the school of Language, Science & Fun. Patra spent his childhood autumns raking leaves while listening to college football on the radio, and is surprised they haven’t upgraded from radio waves yet.

AHH the good ole days when Michigan won 9 or 10 games every year and went to bowl games. It seems like it was yesterday(way to ruin it Kevin. Yet that wasn’t good enough for the the maize and blue faithful, we needed BCS bowl wins, not appearances. Rich Rod has one more year to get us to the promise land or at least a decent bowl game, or he is gone. On a side note my dad saw Devon Gardner play at Thurston a couple of weeks ago, said he was 6′5 and was the fastest guy on the field; had moves and could throw 40 yards on a line. But he has a side arm delivery.
Enjoy that So. Cal sunshine it is going to snow here on Thursday.
I said from the beginning he had 3 years (although I didn’t realize he would spend the first two Christmas’ at home–unacceptable). We shall see what happens in the next 8 months (that D better get better…maybe Gardner can pull a Charles Woodson and switch sides of the ball…yo 6′5″ cornerback…hahah)
