Remember last year when the Lakers ran through the West, and everyone thought they were the front runners? Remember when they had the best player in the league/MVP (Kobe) and he was so hungry for a title to find his place in history? Remember when it appeared the team in the East had to go through so much more competition, and they couldn’t win on the road AT ALL?
Speaking of the Pistons, I didn’t think a team could give less effort and intensity in the playoffs, and then the Hornets proved me wrong. We had two god-awful efforts, a broken Spurs team, and one of the series that went seven games (Hawks/Heat) never had a game differential of single digits. On top of that, we had the young team everyone picked (Portland) lose in five games to the best all-around team in the league (Houston). While the young team nobody picked besides me (Chicago) took the KG-less, and apparently defending champs–which gives you suspension invulnerability–to a 7th game. I want my most important player smacking people in the face and throwing players into the scorer’s table with no repercussions. The Lakers can’t stop a point guard under the age of 40 due to lack of all things defensive and seem completely uninspired most of the time.
People seem to be upset that Garnett is most likely out for the playoffs because it’s pretty clear that Kobe and LeBron are going to clash in the finals. This doesn’t mean anything for gamblers because you aren’t going to bet on the Cavs or Lakers anyway. The Cavs are -4,000 to win their series against the Pistons which means you would have to bet $4,000 to win $100. Nobody wants to do that. So let’s see if we can find some exact series prices that are worth it.
The interesting team that everyone wants to root for is the Cardinals. Go Larry Fitzgerald and Go Kurt Warner! I would love for them to win a title. I think Warner deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, and if he chokes like he did last time he was here, then he will probably not get that opportunity.
A prop bet is what you do with your friends from time to time when you try and guess what the bill is going to be at a restaurant or how long it will take you to go from one place to another. When Vegas realized people would put money on just about anything, a dynasty was born.
NFC Championship Philly (-4) @ Zona (+4) Over/Under 47.5
I’d like to thank the Cardinals for the money they’ve made me the past 2 weeks and because we are friends I won’t point out that they could have easily lost that game with a 27-7 lead at halftime if Carolina would have run the ball and [...]
If the gimmick that is “The Winter Classic” worked to spurn interest and regained a few fans then maybe we need some more outside-the-box thinking to get the NHL back on to being considered a viable sporting option for fans.
You can only use the the whole “hey look an outdoor game, how cool” ploy so [...]
(The lines I’ll be using are what they opened up at on the site I use to place my bets.)
Saturday 1:30 PM Baltimore (+3) @ Tennessee (-3) Over/Under 34.5
Regular season went 13-10 in favor of the Titans. Kerry Collins led a TD drive in the 4th to win this game, and this was before Flacco [...]
I feel it’s important to get a grasp on what each team is doing in the playoffs and to get an idea of where I’m coming from as a gambler, so we’re going to look back on Wild Card Weekend.
