Foreign Reports: Confederations Cup

AUDIO SLIDESHOW: The FIFA Confederations Cup soccer tournament is underway in South Africa as a prelude to the 2010 World Cup. The U.S. is off to a rocky start, with a 3-1 loss to Italy in the first round.

South African sporting culture was on full display at the match, including the sounds of Shosholoza, a traditional work song and a favourite at South African sporting events, as well as the vuvuzela, the noise-making trumpets of South African soccer fans. Richie Duchon sent these sites and sounds from Tshwane/Pretoria in South Africa.

  1. Great job with this Richie. Interesting note FIFA is currently debating whether or not to allow the vuvuzuela at the World Cup next summer because they make too much unpleasant noise. btw, so jealous.
